No timekeepers in series
The series started off with Brendan Sheerin describing how exciting the new series will be with it being 50 days and the places that they will visit. The coach started in Croydon, London. With the coach heading off to Portsmouth, the general reaction from the trippers was disappointment as in previous series the coach normally heads straight off to Europe. On the way, some couples introduced themselves with Ray telling all about his hobby - equestrianism - which was perceived as boring. The first activity was to go to the Spinnaker Tower which overlooked the docks. This is where Danny shared a joke about dry docks with Ray. However, Ray didn't get the joke and instead shared his knowledge about dry docks with Danny and his partner, Carol. Again, Danny found this boring. The younger passengers walked across the walk of death with Tam and Brendan doing a roll across it. Many of the couples found the tower boring. In between the activities, Brendan gave the couples their last British meal which was fish and chips the same cuisine as Blackpool, Grimsby, Cleethorpes, Dawlish, Scarborough and Porthcawl. The second activity was sailing. Jenny didn't take part of this activity because she was scared of water. Again, most of the contestants didn't find the sailing activity exciting. At the vote, Raymond and Glenys got the most votes mainly because they didn't get to know the others.
The ferry arrived in Saint-Malo early in the day. Some of the couples had hoped they were in Saint-Tropez. The group travelled to a World War II museum in Caen. After Brendan announced this to the group, Jayson and Raymond had a short conversation about who Britain fought in each of the World Wars. At the museum, the group had a look at some of the weapons used during the war and Jayson decided that the Germans had better uniforms for the soldiers than the British. Then, the group travelled in a 1940s war truck around the area.
In the afternoon, the coach travelled to Bayeux, where the couples took part in an archery activity. Most of the group are confused about how to use the bows and arrows. Matt and Paul won an archery competition. Raymond and Glenys received their second yellow card at the vote which became red and were asked to leave the Coach. Glenys was visibly very upset about this and snubbed many of the group's goodbyes, however she later exchanged goodbyes with Madge and Jenny.
The started with Tam & Jayson taking delays Brendan does not tolerate in hotels and it would be an automatic yellow card if Jayson doesn't hurry up so Tam get to hurry his mate up. Tam & Jayson nearly had timekeeping issues previously held by John and Kerrie 4 years ago. The group visited the Le Mans racing circuit home to the famous 24 hour motor racing. The group got asked to leave the racing circuit because of dangerous driving. Brendan said that "this is the 1st time on the Coach Trip that we got asked leave". The group then went to a stately garden where they tried snails and frog legs. Danny and Carol were awarded the yellow card today. After voting time Sel and Sheila arrived.
The group went horse riding in Chevreuse, then arrived in Paris via EuroDisney where they had horsemeat for lunch, which made several people including Brendan uncomfortable. They then learned the Can-Can at a dance club. Jenny and Anne were awarded their first yellow card and Carol and Danny escaped their red card on Day 4.
The day started with a walk around Paris' streets. Brendan got lost on the way to the Eiffel Tower, but the eventually arrived. Sel has a fear of heights so was scared about going up the tower. They took some pictures of the tower whilst Brendan gave the group some history on it. When they got to the entrance, Brendan had received some priority by going up in a different lift. However, the guides ignored the group a lot and as Brendan said "very unwelcoming." After a long wait they reached the first level of the tower where Sel waited in a Café.
The group were then told that only three people were allowed to the very top floor which again annoyed Brendan a lot. The three chosen to go up were Brenda, Paul and Jenny where the trio described the French people as "bad mannered" and "obnoxious." Shelia went back to Sel and persuaded him to fight his fear of heights and he went to see the view on the first floor of the tower. After that the group headed to a café and purchased hot dogs and baguettes for dinner. They sat down to eat near the Eiffel Tower where Danny proposed to Carol and she said "No." Whilst on their way to their activity Brendan pointed out some landmarks including the Arc de Triomphe and the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier. The group arrived at their activity which was Fencing and were split up into two teams. Danny, Carol, Jayson, Madge, Brenda, Tam,Paul and Matt were all in the team who won. At the vote with 3 votes against them, Brenda and Madge received their first yellow card and Jenny and Anne escaped their red card during Day 5.
The day started in Chablis with some rock-climbing and then zip wiring for the group. Then they had a picnic and they had some Champagne which was followed by wine tasting which turned out to be less of a success because they all tasted the same, according to the team. At the vote Carol & Danny got another yellow card which led to a red one as they had to leave the coach.
The day started with the trip to Dijon, they had a practise on Segways where people crashed into each other. They then travelled on the Segways to a local restaurant. After that they visited the Moutarde de Dijon where a local man gave information about the mustard making process and the history. Then they visited the actual factory where the mustard is made. In couples, they had to make their own mustard. At the vote Sel & Shelia and Brenda & Madge had 3 votes up which ended up a tie. In the end, Sel and Shelia got their first yellow card.
Anita and Lloyd joined the coach, the group moved from France which was a relief to all of them, their first activity was curling, and Jenna fell over and cracked her skull, luckily no damage was done. The group then had a tour around a medieval castle and had the opportunity to dress up which Jenny did not enjoy, at the voting it was so long for Brenda and Madge.
The day started earlier than usual in the morning. On the coach, Brendan introduced the new couple Lloyd and Anita who replaced Carol and Danny. The group travelled to Switzerland for the first time. For the groups first activity Brendan had planned a Cable Car trip up to the very top of the mountain in Switzerland, but because of bad weather they shut all of the Cable Cars and ski area was closed. When the group went for lunch two of the tourists got quite drunk and made fools of themselves. Jayson Daniels, who cried at missing his boyfriend, revealed on his own blog to be an attempt to steal the cameras attention and boost his profile as he wants to be a TV Presenter. At the vote Sel & Sheila received another yellow card which made a red card, they said their goodbye's to the rest of the group and left the coach.
The day began with Brendan welcoming a new couple, Dean and Jen on to the coach. The coach then travelled to Milan in Italy the famous place for fashion where the group visited the San Siro football Stadium. They toured the stadium and visited the dressing rooms of Inter Milan and A.C. Milan. After lunch, Brendan took the group into the centre of Milan where the group split into two, where some visited the Milan Cathedral and the others went shopping. At voting time, Jenny and Anne received their second yellow card, giving them a red card resulting in them having to leave the coach.
The day started with the introduction of the couple replacing Jenny and Anne who were student and teacher – Bruce and Jon. Brendan announced the destination and the first activity which would be sailing. Unfortunately, to the group's disappointment, there was little wind resulting in a dull activity. So instead they decided to stay on the ship and chill out. However, after all of the group jumped into the lake apart from Jayson who cannot swim. They then went to a local farm to make fresh Italian ice cream. Before they started, they painted nail varnish onto each other. As the young members of the coach were separate from the others this led to speculation of a voting alliance by Bruce and Jon.
The group were then shown a demonstration by a local Italian guide on how to make the ice cream. The boys made cherry ice cream whilst the girls made chocolate. In the end, Brendan chose the girls' ice cream as the winner. They all tasted each others ice cream whilst Brendan ate all the flavours in the farm. At the vote despite immunity from the previous day Dean and Jen received their first yellow card.
The day started off with the group waking up for the first time in a 5 star hotel. Certain members of the group explained at breakfast that there was trouble brewing after the previous nights vote. Shortly after the coach left the hotel, Tam and Jayson decided to start a celebration party in which everyone on the coach was invited to celebrate the start of a new week. However, Bruce wasn't interested and an argument suddenly occurred between Bruce from Bruce & Jon and Tam & Jayson about the allience. Jayson kept his cool along with Tam but Bruce was nearly up to boiling point (Jon and Lloyd tried to calm him down), but things quickly turned physical and Bruce attempted to grab Tam when he started taunting Bruce. The coach then stopped to let Bruce get some fresh air, to calm down and to allow to explain to Brendan on why the incident happened. However, Brendan then said to Bruce that verbal and physical abuse was not allowed on Coach Trip and gave Bruce and Jon an automatic red card. Tam and Jayson said they were okay and unhurt and even felt sorry for Bruce, but Jenna and Jodie were really upset that the incident scared them as they were sitting in-between the argument, Paul & Matt comforted them during a toilet break. The group arrived to their activity and introduced the new couple, Mary and Mark replacing Sel & Sheila. They were shown how to carve stones and the group had a go. They then held a small competition and Dean and Jen won. They then made their way to make grappa, discarded bits from grape making wine. There was a twist to the vote due to the previous events in the day, they had to vote for the most popular couple to win a treat. There was a tie between Jodie & Jenna and Anita & Lloyd they had to draw straws. The winners in the end were Anita and Lloyd but they let Jodie & Jenna win. They won a penthouse suite with champagne and jacuzzi.
The day started with Brendan explaining today's destination, Venice. Much of the group were excited about visiting the city. They went on a boat along the rivers of Venice taking pictures and sightseeing, they then walked around Venice's streets and alleyways to the famous bridges and the place where Cassonova was imprisoned. They then had a lesson on gondoliering and travelled in their couples in their own gondolier. Brendan then took the group to the beach for the afternoon where the group chucked Brendan into the sea. The vote was conducted on the coach and couples Anita & Lloyd and Tam & Jayson each got two votes against them resulting in a tie. The two couples were then led of the coach whilst the other members of the group came to a decision. After discussing who should get the yellow card they couldn't come to a decision and for the first time ever on coach trip, both couples received a yellow card.
(Note: Two couples receiving a yellow card each happened the first time ever on Coach Trip)
The day started with news of an argument between Lloyd and Mark. A new couple were introduced - Pat and Janet - replacing excluded couple Bruce & Jon, where they toured underground caves. They then tried out hovercrafts. At the vote, Mark and Mary got five votes and a yellow card.
The Day started with the coach struggling to get out of the hotel due to a tight turn. After that, the couples went to see underground caves and went up a mountain, trying cable cars and swings. The guide for the day, Alex, took charge, leaving Brendan to wander in the fields. At the vote, Dean and Jen received 4 votes, their second yellow card and their red card and had to leave the trip.
At the start of the day, Lloyd entertained quitting the competition, saying that he missed home. In the morning, the contestants went to milk cows. In the afternoon, they went to a chocolate factory where they tried all sorts of chocolates, including chocolate syringes, which the younger contestants messed about with. Lloyd and Anita left the group for a while during this, needing fresh air and feeling unwell. At the vote, Lloyd and Anita and Pat and Janet drew the vote with two votes each, the group chose to award the yellow card to Lloyd and Anita which became a red card. At the end of the day, Jenna and Jodie, decided it was time for them to leave the coach due to commitments back at home.
The tourists headed off to Laz, but Paul the driver got lost and they arrived two hours late to a lesson in making edible flowers. Paul, Tam and Jayson annoyed the guide and were sent back to the coach. The couples then visited a zoo in Zagreb and handled snakes. New couples Carla and Angie and Lynn and Becky joined. At the vote, Pat and Janet and Paul and Matt tied on two votes each: The yellow card went to Pat and Janet.
The two new tourists from the band Scooch join, the tourists have learned to start in Slavonski Brod with fishing before having fish for lunch and learned to do skeet shooting to shoot clay pigeons. At the vote Pat & Janet received their second yellow card which became red and they headed home.
All tourists except Pat & Janet crossed from Croatia to Serbia and the trip went on its way to Belgrade. The trip to Serbia wasn't interesting for Caroline and Russ because Serbia beat The United Kingdom in The Eurovision Song Contest. At the vote Mark & Mary received their second yellow card which became red and they headed home.
Trish and Luke arrive – boy and girlfriend’s mother. In Niš, in Serbia, the group have an emotional and sobering visit to an old Nazi concentration Camp, followed by an afternoon folk dancing lesson to lift their spirits. At the vote Tam and Jayson are Finally voted off red-carded after surviving since day 1 by voting tactically.
With Tam & Jayson and Mark & Mary gone there are 4 empty spare seats on the coach waiting to fill. The group head further east into a world heritage site ranked as the 77th wonder of the world. But the party are a bit underwhelmed. Later, at a local spa, Luke and his girlfriend's mum Trish are suitably embarrassed when they end up having a topless massage in the same room.
A New couple who joined on the beginning of that day replacing Tam & Jayson were Twins Pat & Margaret. The group went to Sofia and had a pottery lesson and then had a go at playing Bulgarian bagpipes after Vin & Lin joined replacing Mark & Mary. At the vote Lynn and Becky were yellow carded with Lynn walking off during an interview.
The day starts off with Lynn & Becky leaving the Coach due to Lynn's mother also known as Becky's Grandmother being ill. In Plovdiv, the group headed for a cookery lesson where the main course of cow brain was rather hard to stomach. And after an afternoon's medieval soldier fighting lesson, the battling continued at the vote.
All six couples entered Turkey. The Turkish anthem was the song some English tourists don't understand which also is a 1 star national anthem on coach trip. There was no butter to put on bread for any Turkish lunch according to the rules and Turkish tea served black looks like Yorkshire Tea and PG Tips although milk was not available as to follow the rules. At the vote because Luke has been missing his girlfriend Luke & Trish received 5 votes meaning a second yellow card which became red and are now sent home.
With Lynn & Becky and Luke & Trish gone the day starts with 4 empty spare seats to be filled. Musicians Tom & Dan arrived. The group went to Istanbul and visited the Blue Mosque and later went to the market. At the vote Pat & Margaret received their first yellow card with 4 votes against them.
The contestants visit a traditional market and take a boat trip across the Bosphorus to the Asian side of the city, however Dan makes a scene which irritates Paul. At the vote Paul & Matt were awarded their first yellow card.
At Istanbul the day began with many passengers vomiting on the coach due to drinking the night before. They then headed off for golf which was the sport that returned after its 4 year absence on coach trip. After lunch the tourists then traveled to Tekirdag for another sport called oil wrestling. On the way to the hotel Brendan decided to hold the vote on the coach and Gill & Dan received 4 votes and were awarded their first yellow card.
All Tourists left Turkey and crossed into Greece and the first place in Greece was Feres. Brendan became infatuated with the local tour guide who occupied 1 empty spare seat, and the group took part in birdwatching and painting. At the vote, the group were almost unanimous in voting off Gill and Dan, because they felt the couple were boring.
The day started with a geography quiz after Carla vomited about the winding roads. The group enjoyed a canoeing activity at a national park and then later on visited a mud bath in Xanthi. At the vote Tom and Dan were yellow-carded.
The day started with a history quiz on the way to Thessaloniki. A new couple arrived after the history quiz was over and the group tried making cocktails and DIY cocktails. At the vote Tom & Dan were red-carded and they now must consequently leave the group.
The day starts with 2 empty spare seats and after nearly 5 hours of patience the coach arrived at Volos for an adventure on the canyon. After lunch the group gets to play a British afternoon autumn game of conkers. After conkers Brendan held the vote on the coach again and at the vote Ron & Debs had 5 votes and received their first yellow card.
The day starts with last night's vote in everyone's thoughts. A new couple, Vanessa and Sara arrived. The Coach reached the Ancient Greek location of Delphi and the tourists waited in the rain until the rainclouds start to elevate, and eventually came to a halt. Snorkling from Baywatch was the afternoon's main activity. At the vote it was a tie between Ron & Debs and Vin & Lin. After a long and hard decision Ron & Debs received their second yellow which became a red and as such they were eliminated from the coach and the game.
The day starts with a thunderstorm brewing, 2 empty spare seats again to fill, songs from Grease were sang on the Grease songs quiz, The weather after arriving in Athens did not get any better until lunch time and a break up of friendship between Paul & Matt and Carla & Angie occurred at the vote.
The day starts with 4 empty spare seats until newcomers Jake and Eileen joined and were shocked to find out they were going bungee jumping over the Corinth Canal. For the second activity, the group took a Canal boat down the Canal whilst having a history lesson from Brendan. At the vote, Sara and Vanessa got their first yellow card, although Pat and Margaret decided to walk from the coach trip due to Pat's failing health.
With Paul & Matt and Pat & Margaret gone the day starts with 4 empty spare seats to be filled again until Nathan & Romane joined.
